testimonials "Am back in Pennsylvania from the Mel Jacobson/Dannon Rhudy workshop at Nottingham in San Marcos, California! It was fabulous! Those two make a terrific team and we all had a really fun time while learning so much. I heartily recommend their workshop -- If you get a chance, by all means take it!!! The facility at Nottingham is first
rate... well equipped, and the staff is friendly, hard working
and very well organized. I have been watching them develop
over the past few years, and the work they have done since
I was there in January, is amazing. There was even one person
who is a phd candidate at Davis who spent his vacation working
hard to help get things ready to open. Terry's dream of an
art center has been a long one, and he did everything the
right way when he organized the place. Terry
(AND the gang), thanks for a GREAT week!"
"I think Terry Sullivan probably
has posted a comment about the tile workshop I did last week
at the Nottingham Center for the Arts in San Marcos, California,
but I wanted to add my perspective, since this is a new place
that many people have not heard of yet. Believe me, they will!
This is the only non-profit art center south of Los Angeles
in Southern California, and it's going to be a great one!
At the moment, it doesn't look like much, but with Terry at
its helm, and with the staff that's there now, it's going
to be a wonderful facility. When I arrived, there was one
functioning electric kiln. When I left, there were two electrics
and eight gas kilns hooked up, not to mention the added lawn.
Whenever I said I would need something for the workshop, the
answer was always, "How do you want it and when do you need
it?". And it would be there. The students were wonderful,
and staying at "Ranch Relaxo" was a real treat. Next up there-
Peter King. Then Louis Katz. If you live in Southern California,
get to know this place! And if you don't, it's worth the trip.
And, those of you who teach workshops- If Terry Sullivan calls
you up and invites you to the Nottingham Center, say yes on
the spot! Don't even stop to think about it!"
