Michael Hermann began his glassblowing career as an apprentice at The Art of Fire. His experience grew quickly at the Maryland glass studio with beginner and advanced classes, followed by sessions at Red Deer, Canada and at the The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass. Inspired by Italian masterpieces, he studied with Elio Quarisa and also apprenticed under Gianni Tosa, absorbing age-old techniques long kept secret by Muranese culture. In addition to designing and producing his own work, Michael still takes time out to teach classes and individual students, often here at Nottingham. His work has been featured in such magazines as American Style and Niche.
