& CRITIQUES

Figurative sculpture classes with Vladimir Medenica continue at the Nottingham Center for the Arts in San Marcos with the next eight-week sessions beginning Friday, October 18, 2002 for Structured Classes and , Thursday, October 17, 2002 for Critiques.

The Nottingham Center for the Arts in San Marcos, under the direction of Terry Sullivan, offers a large, airy and pleasant studio for working as well as ample storage for works in progress. Modeling stands will be provided. Participants will need to supply their own tools and either plastilene or water-based clay. If needed, tools and clay will be available for purchase. Please arrange for these before the first class. Bring your own lunch or take a break and visit one of the many restaurants nearby.


STRUCTURED CLASSES FEE: $200
Fridays - October 18 through December 13, 2002

This class will cover the building of an armature, creation of the image in clay, and the "dressing" of the figure with drapery or clothing. Emphasis will be on anatomy, movement and position. Participants will be working from a live model for part of the class time. The class is open to all levels of ability - from the beginner to the professional.


CRITIQUES FEE: $20 1/2 hour [or] $30 hour

Vadimir will be at the Center every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. working on his own sculptures. However, he will make himself available for those who bring in projects of their own and who would like critique and instruction on an individual basis. Participants can choose a single half-hour session or two one-half hour sessions with time in-between to work on their own. These times can be arranged in advance by appointment or a sign-up sheet.
